We’ll hold an in-game merch design contest to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Guardian Tales!

This in-game merch design contest is held in all serviced regions of Guardian Tales and is divided into 4 divisions: Korea, Southeast Asia, North America/South America, and Europe/Oceania.

While not all regional in-game goods are guaranteed to be chosen for in-game production, some exceptional pieces will be incorporated into the actual game.

Also! To make sure that only your original work is submitted, we will be requesting you to submit a record/rough draft of your design, together with the final design. So please make sure to keep records of your progress!

*Submissions for Korea, North America, Europe, Oceania, and South America's in-game merch design contests must be made through their respective channels.

[How to Participate]

• Submit an original in-game merch design of your own. (Multiple submissions are allowed, but only one of your submissions can be selected as one of the 10 winning entries.)
• Upload your original design and descriptions:

*Please note that a Google account is required to upload files via this form.

We will review the submissions, select the TOP 10 entries, and conduct a vote via another announcement.

YOU MUST ABIDE BY ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

• Please submit the name of your in-game merch design.
• Submit both the completed design and a record of the creative process (e.g., sketches or line art).
• It could be an illustration of your original sketch or pixel art.
• No AI! If your submission is found to be created using AI, it will not be accepted, and any submissions or rewards may be revoked. No plagiarizing, and make sure it is your original work.
• There are no restrictions on file formats or size.

Internal screening will narrow down the selections to the Top 10 submissions, which will then be followed by voting via website and social media channels to decide on the winners.

• Grand Prize (1 Guardian) Reward: 20,000 Gems + 1,000 Reserve Stamina
• Gold Prize (1 Guardian) Reward: 15,000 Gems + 750 Reserve Stamina

• Bronze Prize (5 Guardians) Reward: 5,000 Gems + 250 Reserve Stamina

*Guardian Tales, serviced by Kakao Games B.V. Europe, operates in Europe/Oceania and North America/South America to ensure fairness and provide more opportunities for each region.

*These event rewards are exclusively for Europe/Oceania and North America/South America. Submissions for the Korea and Southeast Asia in-game merch design contests must be made through their respective channels.

*The Top 10 winners will be selected through internal screening by the Community Manager Team at Kakao Games B.V. Europe.

*There is no guarantee for how many in-game Merch Items from each division will be created in-game at a later date. This means that while any of the Top 10 winning entries could become an in-game merch item, it does not ensure that the Grand Prize winner's item will be created.

*Submitted works must meet all the conditions specified in the [Participation Guidelines] and must be written in English.

*You may submit multiple entries, but please submit under one account (and Google Form). Editing of responses is possible until the submission deadline.

*Designs containing inappropriate, trolling, abusive, inflammatory, or violent content that violate our terms and policies, or breach online conduct guidelines, will be rejected.

*Plagiarism is strictly prohibited! Your submission will be disqualified if it contains copied elements from others' creations. Please ensure your work is original.

*Artwork created using AI tools or software is strictly forbidden as well. You may be asked to submit additional proof that your work is original by providing intermediate stages (sketches, guidelines) to prove that it is your original work.

*If your account is deleted or banned for violating game policies during the event/reward period, you will be disqualified from the event and will not be eligible to receive any rewards, even under a new account.

*Voting on the submissions will be held via a separate notice to follow. Additionally, the reward distribution method will be announced in the winner announcement post.

*The "5th Anniversary In-Game Merch Design Contest" is open to players of Guardian Tales who reside and launch the game in the regions of Europe, Oceania, South America, and North America, where the game is serviced. As this is a global contest, a separate version is being held for South Korea and Southeast Asia. Players in those regions must submit their designs through the respective social media channels for those countries.

*Winning entries can be subject to partial revisions and adjustments by the development team prior to in-game implementation.

*By submitting your in-game merch design or artwork ("Entry"), you agree to grant Guardian Tales full Intellectual Property and Publicity Rights to your unique work. Specifically, by submitting an Entry, you hereby grant Kakao Games and Kong Studios, along with their affiliated companies, a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free license to use your name, email address, city and state of residence, or other information provided by you (“Personal Information”) to identify your Entry in the Uses, without any obligation for attribution or compensation.

*As used here, “Uses” refers to the uploading and posting of your Entry (or derivative works) on Guardian Tales’ official Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Discord channels, the official Guardian Tales website, and other platforms, as well as the exploitation of your Entry (or derivative works) in any format or medium, whether current or future. This includes, but is not limited to, merchandising (in-game merch), events, and other promotional activities. You understand that the Uses licensed to Kakao Games B.V. Europe, and Kong Studios may include: public display of your Entry on Guardian Tales and external websites; the creation of Entry collections for commercial sale, incorporating your Entry alongside other entrants’ submissions, including photos, videos, and text; and the integration of your Entry into Guardian Tales mobile game products.
